WHEN LEMMY MADE MY EARS BLEED
My first Motörhead piece of vinyl was ‘Rock’N’Roll’. Not nearly their best, but it was the only one I could find at the record shop in my town back in May 1994. After listening to it, I definitely wanted more Motörhead. The only other thing available at the store was this bootleg CD called ‘Gonna Make Your Ears Bleed’, and I grabbed it later that month. First half: a show in Irvine Meadows, 1992; second half: a show recorded in the Netherlands, 1986. I fell in love with the only song coming up in both sets, and that was ‘Killed By Death’. Furthermore, KTS (Kiss The Stone) was the ultimate label for bootleg CDs. The sound quality was always enjoyable (often perfect), and the booklets were awesome, filled with plenty of pics and even extensive liner notes! Some of their CDs looked and sounded better than some cheap official releases. If you ever see a bootleg from your favorite band and it’s released on this label, grab it, don’t think twice.
Lemmy is gone.
Motörhead’s official page is asking to celebrate the man by playing his music loud and sharing stories.
